Ana Sorce (Anandaprema)- E-RYT, YogaFlow

Ana was introduced to classic Hatha Yoga by her mother when she was about 8. Then the practice was forgotten for many years until she was re-introduced to Yoga by her friend in 2002. Ana enrolled in YogaFlow Teacher Training with the intention of deepening her practice and learning more about yoga. Though, she didn't intend to teach, it was meant to be. In the past few years she's studied with many wonderful and talented teachers and explored different styles. In addition she studied Zen Meditation in Japan.

Yoga transformed Ana's life in more ways than she could have ever imagined. Ana believes that every style has something great to offer. Her goal is to show her students that yoga is for everybody and to help everyone find his or her own path. Her classes are a creative mix of various styles she finds fascinating.

As a Certified E-RYT (Experience Registered Yoga Teacher) and the founder of Ananta Yoga Studio, she continues her yoga journey, currently concentrating on her studies in Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy. Ana is a member of the IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists)

Anandaprema, which means "Blissful Divine Love", is the name given to Ana by her Guru. Ana is one of the disciples of Joan Suval and a frequent visitor to Ananda Ashram in Monroe, NY

Angela Cays - RYT, Kripalu Center of Yoga

Angela has earnestly been on the path of practice since 1999 when a friend invited her to a Thich Nhat Hanh based sangha (meditation group) where she felt like she had come home. Continuing to meet weekly with the sangha in a yoga studio, she began taking yoga classes and workshops there. It was in a workshop with Suzie Hurley in 2002 that the seed for becoming a yoga teacher was planted. Having been a high school math teacher, licensed professional counselor, and a lover of dance and music; Angela’s shift to becoming a yoga teacher was a natural one. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in the fall of 2006 at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and is registered with the Yoga Alliance.

Kripalu yoga looks at how we approach our practice on the mat to gain insight about our habits and our approach to life off the mat. Kripalu classes typically include a theme which supplements the physical practice to cultivate a quality of being or to learn something about ourselves.

Angela’s classes approach the body mindfully, beginning with a thorough warm up to prepare for deeper stretching and strengthening postures. She encourages students to develop their witness consciousness and listen to their body’s inner wisdom to have a safe and meaningful experience in class.

Angela is currently working on completing her advanced teacher training at Naturally Yoga. Her studies with Sheryl and Neil Edsall, MeriLynn Blum, Damian Boscardin, and Anodea Judith (Psychology of the Chakras, Mind Body Integration) have enriched her ability to understand how the practice of yoga effects individual transformation – body, mind, and spirit. She couples these teachings with her experience as a counselor to cultivate a therapeutic effect in both her group classes and private yoga sessions.

With deep gratitude to her teachers and for the path of practice, Angela’s intention for right livelihood is realized by the opportunity to teach yoga. She understands the reciprocal relationship of her own personal practice and that of her teaching. It is both for herself and her students that she works to create safe and sacred spaces where the seeds of peace, love, compassion, and grace can be watered so that beautiful flowers can bloom.

Antonette Redl (Vidyadhari) - RYT, YogaFlow

Antonette was first introduced to yoga while studying at Montclair State University, and graduated with a B.A. in Commercial Arts. After years of drifting in and out of yoga classes she began seeking various spiritual traditions to fulfill a void within. After an illness led her back to her mat she soon discovered yoga not only opened her physically but opened her heart to what she had been seeking all along. This lead her to deepen her own practice while learning how to teach classes and enrolled in YogaFlow Body and Mind Teacher Training.

Antonette brings all of these lessons enriched in spirituality into her teaching. Her classes are geared towards recognizing each ones individuality in a nurturing, non intimidating atmosphere.

Brian Yuen - RYT, Lotus Yoga

Brian's love of yoga started one evening in September of 2001, when, taking an after dinner stroll, he came across a yoga studio, got a schedule, went to a class that week, and has been practicing yoga ever since. Among the many wonderful teachers he has studied with are the usual and some not-so-usual suspects.

Brian is a graduate of the 300 Hour Lotus Yoga Teacher Training program (RYT-200) and has been teaching since November of 2006. He is certified for kids yoga (through Lotus Yoga & CircusYoga) and prenatal yoga (through Mia Borgatta's Ma Yoga Program). He is currently training to be an Acroyoga teacher.

He feels blessed to have studied with wonderful teachers from various traditions, including Iyengar, Kripalu, Ashtanga and Anusara, but has since discovered that the best teachers are his students. Yogic studies continues to be a major source of inspiration for life. He thanks all of his teachers, past, present, and future, who bless him with their teachings and guidance.

His classes range from gentle restorative to strong vinyasa. No matter the level or pace, having fun and keeping a meditative mind are key. He can be found teaching a wide range of classes including children with autism, veterans with Alzheimer's, and partner flying yoga.

Cara Leonard - Sonic Yoga

Cara's yogic journey began by an act of fate during her senior year of college at Parsons The New School for Design, when one credit shy of graduating, she enrolled in a Hatha yoga class to complete her requirements.  As a former dancer, Cara took immediately to the movements of the yoga asana practice and happily found that the stress of the outside world would drift away while she practiced.

After graduating and moving back to NJ, Cara began looking for a local studio to continue her practice and fortunately came across Ananta Yoga Studio which was just opening its doors.  Practicing for months at Ananta Yoga motivated her to further her practice and enroll in teacher training at Sonic Yoga in NYC, a program based on the smooth, dance-like style of Shiva Rea's Prana Flow.

Cara has also begun practicing AcroYoga with friends and fellow teachers, reacquainting herself with her childhood love of hanging upside-down.

Damian's  classes are creative and playful as well as filled with the ancient Yoga Philosophy and spiritual teachings that make us reflect and open our minds and hearts to other aspects of our being that may be dormant in one's busy modern living.

John Levis - Certified Anusara® Yoga Instructor

John completed his initial teacher training with Todd Norian in 2003. He has also assisted Todd’s immersion and teacher training and continues to study with Anusara founder, John Friend as well as many senior Anusara instructors having completed over 1,000 hours of training.

John also completed the Level One and Two Thai Yoga certification from Shantaya Healing Arts with Jonas Westring in 2005.

John grew up playing ice-hockey beginning at the age of six and played throughout high school.  He spent most of the nineties in the gym, heavily into weight-training.  In 1999 he was introduced to yoga and left the gym for good the following year. He found that yoga offered a much better work without all that strain on the body and actually found himself one inch taller after the age of 30!

Since finding Anusara® Yoga in 2002, he has remained dedicated to The Universal Principles of Alignment™ and has relieved chronic back pain.  Combining an amazing, therapeutic workout with a life enhancing, heart opening practice inspired by Shiva-Shakti Tantric philosophy, John is on his path.  This practice helps him to open up to the full spectrum of life and finds that teaching inspires others to align with their greatest potential, thus raising the vibration for all! His classes are fun, inspiring and informative.

"What inspires me most about teaching yoga is watching each student tap into their inherent potential to grow, to improve, to find relief from pain or discomfort and become empowered, strong and simply more beautiful."

Kathy DeJesus (Madhuri) - RYT, Lotus Yoga

Kathy had always been intrigued by yoga but never seemed to have the time to attend a class. It wasn’t until she was pregnant with her first child that she decided to take pre-natal yoga in place of Lamaze classes. It was one of the best decisions she's made in her life. That introductory class showed Kathy the path she'd travel for the rest of her life.

In 2008 Kathy completed her 300 hour yoga teacher training at Lotus yoga inMontclair and became a member of the Yoga Teachers Alliance. She is deeply grateful to continue her yoga practice and studies with so many amazing teachers such as, Jennifer Kohl, Valerie Herzog, Kelly Morris, & Dharma Mittra.

Over the last year Kathy has been studying with Reverend Jaganath Carrera (Author of Inside the Yoga Sutras, Founder of Yoga Life Society) deepening her studies  and is currently expanding her meditation practice with Yoga Life Society. Yoga continues to be a deepening source of inspiration.

Stacy Bomhoff - teacher in traning, YogaFlow at Ananta Yoga

Stacy attended the University of Arkansas for her degree in Physical Education, then spent the next 20 years teaching all varieties of group fitness classes, personal training and supervised the fitness programs for a local chain of fitness facilities.

After tiring of the superficial world of the gym industry, Stacy retired to spend more time developing her horsemanship skills in the world of Dressage, where she now trains and teaches; including therapeutic massage on the horses! After a fall off a horse resulting in a crushed wrist, she relied upon her fitness background for physical therapy and only then discovered the mental, spiritual, and physical power that Yoga provides. It is this joy that brings her yoga to life.

Stacy is currently receiving training with Ana Sorce and with YogaFlow founder and Ananta Yoga’s good friend - Gail Robertiello. Enjoying using her dance background, her dance on her horse ("dressage"), Stacy enjoys making her classes a "dance with the breath".  She is a “regular sub” teacher at Ananta Yoga, in addition to teaching belly dancing. Stacy recently left sunny Florida to spread her bubbly spirit and sunny Florida disposition to the Ananta Yoga Studio and to make New Jersey her new home.
